Case studies and technical papers dedicated to the water, wastewater and flood alleviation industries

Nominate Projects -  Submit Case Studies

We accept projects nominations and case studies submissions on a rolling basis throughout the year. Case studies will be published initially on WaterProjectsOnline and then will be put forward for potential inclusion in the next edition of the Water Projects technical journal.

  • Applicable topics: We cover all aspects of wastewater treatment & sewerage, water treatment & supply, renewable energy, flood alleviation, river work, environmental and nature-based solutions, as well as industrial water and wastewater treatment.
  • Going global: We are no longer restricted to UK projects and we now welcome case studies detailing global projects.
  • Project status: Projects can be featured at any stage during the design/construction process. So that projects are fully covered, we encourage an initial design-focused case study, followed by construction/commissioning-focused case studies in subsequent years.

  • Full case studies: Full case studies can either feature a recently completed project in its entirety or a component/phase of an ongoing project. We cover all aspects of wastewater treatment & sewerage, water treatment & supply, renewable energy, flood alleviation, river work, environmental and nature-based solutions, as well as industrial water and wastewater treatment. There are no geographical restrictions.Full case studies are typically 1500-2000 words (minimum 1000 words). They will be published in the main case studies section on WaterProjectsOnline and will also be put forward for potential selection in the next edition of the Water Projects print edition.
  • Innovations & Technology papers: Innovations & Technology technical papers give companies the opportunity of highlighting their processes, products and/or services by providing technical papers aimed at engineers from the water companies and their project delivery partners. Innovation articles typically explain a problem the industry has, followed by an explanation of how the technology, product, or service helps overcome these issues. They will be published in the main Innovations section on WaterProjectsOnline and, if they meet the minimum editorial requirements, will also be put forward for potential selection in the next edition of the Water Projects (print edition).

They might cover a survey, a design element, application of a project or technology, or a specific construction element etc. The project’s location or its name is not required.
  • Integrated articles: An integrated article allows a supply chain company to provide more details of the product or service that they provided to a particular project. When referenced in a case study, a part of the text will become an active link, which on hover-over, the introductory photograph and the opening paragraph of the supplementary article will show. Integrated articles can be as short as a single paragraph and photograph, can be a full product or process/technology review of 1000-1500 words, or just a standalone video.

About Water Projects

In 1993, midway through AMP1, the first annual edition of UK Water Projects was published. More than thirty years on, we still publish the Water Projects technical journal on an annual basis as well as WaterProjectsOnline. These publishing platforms give water companies, their project delivery partners and the supply chain the opportunity to publish technical case studies, innovation & technology papers, and product/services descriptions and reviews, covering all aspects of wastewater treatment & sewerage, water treatment & supply, renewable energy, flood alleviation, river work, environmental and nature-based solutions, as well as industrial water and wastewater treatment.

The industry-recognised and highly-respected platforms encourage information sharing between the water companies, designers, contractors and the wider supply chain, with case studies and technical papers detailing problem solving and successes, dos and don’ts, performance results, carbon and cost-saving innovations and technologies, and much more.

Be part of Water Projects as we move through our fourth decade … nominate projects … submit case studies … take out a featured company subscription … post jobs … and much, much more.
